  • [H2] The organization was born out of the singular desire to solve a growing crisis. A group of committed community leaders organized a mass meeting after the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston released “The Color of Wealth in Boston” report, which detailed the yawning racial wealth divide. That meeting, which took place at the Prince Hall Grand Lodge in Dorchester, rallied more thann 700 Black Boston residents, all with a focus on solutions to the emergency that the report made plain. It was at this meeting and others that BECMA was born.

  • [H2] Our membership community includes individuals, businesses, and other organizations committed to closing the racial wealth gap, including students and professionals, small businesses, and ally organizations such as non-profits, corporations, foundations, hospitals, universities, venture capital firms, insurance companies, and government agencies.

  • [H2] “The grant provided by BECMA supported Caring Medical Staffing by offering crucial funding to cover operational costs, enabling the company to deliver services without delay. This funding bridged the gap between the immediate provision of care and the time it takes to receive payments from clients, ensuring continuity of care and maintaining high staffing standards. By reducing financial strain, the grant allowed the organization to focus on fulfilling its mission of meeting community healthcare needs efficiently and effectively.”

We just opened our second location at the DCU Center, and the funding allowed us to wrap and brand our concessions cart! The grant has played a vital role in expanding our operations and continuing our success.”
